ALMOST! Kahne finishes 2nd to Matt Kenseth in one of NASCAR closest finishes!

Kasey Kahne was on a mission Sunday afternoon, the mission to proof that Daytona was just a bad break. Kahne who started 3rd Sunday was in the Top 5 and Top10 all day long and near the end proofed he was a race contender. Matt Kenseth nudged him by just .010 seconds, in a photo finish. Kenseth has led 259 or 393 laps in the 400 mile race. More ___________________________________________________________________________

KASEY KAHNE FASTEST ROOKIE, 3RD FASTEST, MAYFIELD TO START 6TH

After a disappointing Speedweeks, Kasey Kahne and the rest of Evernham Motorsports were ready to start the real season. Daytona is often called a season with in a season, and that Rockingham is the real start to the season. Kasey is of course running both the CUP and Busch events this weekend, as he plans to do each week, he place both of his teams in the top5. The #38 Great Clips Dodge was fast enough to earn him the 4th starting spot for Saturday and the #9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge was clocked at 3rd fastest for Sunday. Teammate Jeremy Mayfield post a quick lap early and was clock with having the 6th fastest laps. Both EMS cars were favorites to win the pole after posting some fast laps in practice, but they fell short to "Pole King" Ryan Newman, who ran about 1/4seconds  faster than everyone else. So after a very disappointing start to the season Evernham Motorsports looks to be shaping up for a good run on Sunday with both teams. Last year at North Carolina Speedway Jeremy Mayfield, and Evernham Motorsports "Competition Director" Bill Elliott lead more than half of the race with Elliott winning and Mayfield finishing 3rd. ___________________________________________________________________________
